My name
is Janet Eich.I grew up on a vegetable
farm in Maine. In the early 1990s I studied languageand culture in the now former Soviet Union.Following that period I attended SarahLawrenceCollege
near New York City.At Sarah Lawrence I focused my studies on
dance and Russian.
After
college I moved to California
to attend my Feldenkrais training.I
studied for four years with Dennis Leri.I became a certified practitioner in 2001.For the past 6 years I lived in Western Washington with my husband and children. In my Feldenkrais practice I have worked with
students struggling with the repercussions of stroke, women with debilitating hip pain and a
spectrum of people who just want to move better and feel better.
I am a
life long athlete.I have been involved
competitiverunning, rowing, and
swimming. In my years of dancing I
studied and performed in variety of styles but Modern dance was the primary
focus.
Currently,
I am a Feldenkrais practitioner, mom of three who can do 21 pull ups and knows
how to grow swiss chard. After a year of
living in Memphis
I still feel like Yankee but I have grown to love okra—so perhaps there is
still hope for me! I am so very glad to
be here to bring the Feldenkrais Method to Memphis and the Mid South.
