Feldenkrais® Memphis

How Is It Done?

Feldenkrais® lessons are comprised of specific movements done slowly and without pain.  The spectrum of lessons is vast but they hold in common that the student performs somewhat novel movement with attention and awareness.  Results are often the greatest with slower and smaller movements so anyone can do it.

Group Lessons: Awareness Through Movement®

Private Lessons: Functional Integration®

Note: Awareness Through Movement® and Functional Integration® lessons are abbreviated and referred to as ATM and FI respectively.

Following a Feldenkrais® lesson, your brain continues to work to translate the freshly experienced movement into useful information to create new, efficient patterns of movement.  You will find increased movement in parts of your body you did not move during the lesson. This is integration and leads to an overall sense of increased well-being.

A growing sense of balance and ease is one of the benefits following  Awareness Through Movement® or  Functional Integration®.
